Super Bowl LX was BANANAS. Well, the game was boring. But thanks to Instacart, Ben Stiller and Benson Boone, the first quarter kicked the ad meter commercials into high gear.

Turns out, in a world that seems increasingly spinning out of control, people crave control more than ever. And Instacart could help—when it comes to your groceries anyways. To announce the launch of their newest suite of grocery-controlling functionalities, we brought together control freaks Spike Jonze and Ben Stiller along with backflip king Benson Boone to get the news out on the biggest stage possible.

As Italodisco icons John and Gary, our celebrity stars get into a fierce competition over making their Papa proud. With stuntmen, dancing groceries, and a real analog studio camera from the 80s, we created one of the most memorable spots of the Super Bowl crafted around a simple-stupid message: control your bananas. Showing up across social, streaming audio platforms and even a takeover of Times Square, John and Gary were iconic overnight.

Audiences everywhere flipped, too. From TikTok recreations of the dance to the song being replayed decades later on Italian airwaves, we proved that advertising around a single message can be both fun and memorable.
